In an era where the lines between work and life continue to blur, innovative office design has become essential. This project, led by renowned architects Casper Schwarz, Roezanna Bajadjan, Elaine Keet, and Geert Kok, sought to challenge the status quo and create a dynamic work environment that fosters both professional and social interactions. The aim was to balance the core values of a law firm with the demands of modern technology, people, and sustainability requirements.
Situated within a multitenant building, the typical ‘office flexibility’ standard was prevalent across all rentable floors. The architects wanted to break this mold and craft an environment that is both welcoming and comforting. Their vision was to make the working environment an integral part of life, emphasizing true materials, real beauty, architectural qualities, nature, and furnishings that could seamlessly fit into a hospitality setting or a home.
This design philosophy supports a seamless transition between working remotely, at third places, and in the office. They achieved a perfect balance between peaceful areas for focused work and vibrant social spaces that encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing. The result is a workspace that meets the diverse needs of today’s professionals.
"The design process was a fascinating journey of remodeling the NRF organization and uncovering the unique qualities and opportunities of each floor level," the architects explained. Through this exploration, they created an office environment that not only supports but enhances the hybrid work model. The blend of quiet zones and social areas ensures that employees can find the perfect space for any task, whether it requires deep concentration or collaborative effort.
As the resellers of this groundbreaking project, we are proud to showcase an office design that prioritizes the well-being and productivity of its occupants while staying true to core values. This project sets a new standard in office design, demonstrating how thoughtful architecture can adapt to the evolving needs of modern workplaces. By doing hybrid right, it serves as a blueprint for the future of work environments.
